CBCT uses a cone-shaped beam to capture data that can be used to produce 3D scans of teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways, and bone. Not only is this technology important in diagnosing dental conditions and diseases more accurately, it also plays an important part in implant dentistry—useful for accurate placement of dental implants.
CONE BEAM CT: 3D X-RAY
Digital X-rays use digital sensors instead of photographic film. Once the X-ray is taken, the image is projected on a screen for your dentist to view. The equipment used this type of X-ray exposes dental patients to much less radiation and is more environmentally friendly.
DIGITAL X-RAYS
Guided implant placement is a modern dental method used to install dental implants for missing teeth. Dr. Adair utilizes the cone beam 3D x-ray technology, as well as the 3D intra oral scanner to both scan the mouth and create a 3D model. Guided implant placement is more comfortable, more accurate, less invasive and requires less chair time for patients.
GUIDED IMPLANT PLACEMENT
A dental implant restoration has three main components—the implant fixture which is placed into the bone, the abutment that connects an artificial tooth to a dental implant, and a restoration that is cemented to the abutment and attached directly to the implant fixtures by an internal screw. Dr. Adair is highly skilled in dental implant restoration and utilizes the best state-of-the-art technology to restore your smile.
IMPLANT RESTORATION SYSTEM
An intra-oral scanner is a handheld wireless device that creates a 3D impression of a patient’s teeth, gums, and bite. This 3D impression can be viewed on a chair-side screen in real time and can be used to create dental restorations, mouth guards, and aligners. Digital impression via intra-oral scanners are more comfortable than traditional impressions, eliminating the need for unpleasant tasting materials, bulky trays, and possible gagging.
INTRA-ORAL SCANNERS
A dental Diode Laser, also known as a soft-tissue laser, is a small device that can be used for procedures that involve cutting or contouring soft tissues in the mouth. Diode Lasers can be used in many procedures to reduce treatment time, improve, precision, and lessen discomfort during recovery.
DIODE LASER
We offer both Nitrous Oxide and oral Anesthesia to help patients feel calm and at ease during dental procedures. Nitrous Oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a gas used to both sedate and manage patient anxiety. Oral Anesthesia is a technique to induce the absence of sensation in a specific part of the mouth.
SEDATION
Intra-oral cameras are tiny digital cameras that fit comfortably in your mouth enabling your dentist to show you an enlarged image of your smile on a computer screen. The camera is located in the tip of the Intra-oral wand and transmits real-time video for you and your dentist to review.

Preventative Dentistry
Preventative dental care is important to maintaining good oral hygiene and in avoiding more costly procedures due to neglect. You can keep your teeth healthy by scheduling regular checkups and cleanings—visiting our team at least once every six months.
-
Dental cleaning treatments help prevent problems with your teeth, gums and jaw bones. Our highly-trained, registered dental hygienists do more than just polish your teeth—They ensure you are protected against plaque and oral health issues, probe your gums for signs of periodontal disease, and much more.
-
With the help of his team, Dr. Adair will examine your teeth, review x-rays and conduct an oral cancer screening to determine the current standing of your oral health. This examination will help determine what measures need to be taken to keep your oral hygiene at its best.
-
Dental sealants are a thin, protective coating that shield the chewing surfaces of your back teeth from harmful, cavity-causing bacteria. If you are more prone to sensitivity or cavities, getting sealants can be a useful preventative measure.
-
Fluoride treatments strengthen tooth enamel, making them less susceptible to bacteria and cavities. They can also slow and may even reverse the development of decays and cavities by harming the bacteria which causes the cavities. Fluoride varnish can protect teeth for several months, and it works best if reapplied every three to six months.
General Dentistry
No matter your dental needs, Dr. Adair and his team can help. Our experienced and attentive staff will ensure you leave our office happy. We provide dental care for dentures, root canals, extractions, wisdom tooth removal, bridges and more.
-
A dental implant is a small post that replaces a missing tooth's root. As the only permanent tooth replacement solution, dental implants will instantly improve your quality of life and oral health. Dr. Adair is highly experienced in implant restoration. Using state-of-the-art technology and skilled precision, he offers the best implant treatment and long-term successful outcomes.
-
A tooth that has significant decay or fractures can cause significant pain or discomfort and a root canal may be needed. A root canal is a procedure that repairs or saves damaged or infected teeth instead of removing them. During a root canal, inflamed or infected pulp is removed and cleaned. The root canal is then filled and sealed. After the procedure, the dentist places a crown or other restoration on the tooth.
-
An extraction is performed to remove a tooth due to disease, crowding, or damage. When extractions are required, the area around the tooth will be numbed and Dr. Adair will remove the tooth.
-
A dental filling is an artificial substance that fills cavities in teeth. Dr. Adair uses fillings to treat small holes, gaps, or damaged teeth to improve the health and comfort of your mouth.
-
Wisdom teeth can cause crowding with your other teeth, which can lead to discomfort and crooked teeth. At Adair Family Dental we can remove wisdom teeth and will make sure you are comfortable throughout the procedure.
-
The gums, ligaments, and bone which surround the teeth form the foundation for your teeth. All structures are also referred to as the periodontium. When the periodontium is not healthy, it jeopardizes the teeth just as a bad foundation would threaten the stability of a house. With proper gum treatments, however, it may be possible to return gum tissue to a healthy state. The treatment usually involves a deep cleaning or root planning, done under a local anesthetic, along with local antibiotic agents.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Let us help you create a smile that you are proud of through our cosmetic dentistry services. Whether you want to whiten up your smile, fix and protect damaged teeth, or straighten things up with aligners, we’ve got what you need.
-
Dental veneers are custom-made, thin coverings that fit over the front surfaces of teeth. They can help improve the appearance of teeth by concealing cracks, chips, and stains.
-
Similar to veneers, dental bonding is a cosmetic treatment that can improve your smile. Both are made to blent in with the color of the surrounding teeth, however, bonding uses a composite resin material rather than the ceramic substance used for veneers. Bonding is a faster, most affordable method, but may lack the durability of veneers.
-
Whitening is a popular procedure to make teeth whiter and brighter, giving them a more attractive appearance. Tooth discoloration happens to everyone. Over time, these stains can get darker, which may hinder a confident smile. Our office offers two methods of whitening: In-Office and At-Home. Ask our team for more details.
-
Clear aligners straighten teeth with clear, custom, removable dental devices which move the teeth a little bit at a time. Clear aligners are great alternative to traditional braces.
-
Crowns and Bridges are used to restore and enhance teeth that are damaged, or to take the place of missing teeth. A crown, also referred to as a cap, is used to entirely cover a damaged tooth. A crown not only strengthens a tooth, but it can dramatically improve a tooth's appearance, shape, and alignment.
